Prof Dr Thomas Breu is Director of the Centre for Development and Environment (CDE), University of Bern, and Executive Director of the International Graduate School (IGS) North-South on Global Change, Innovation, and Sustainable Development. Besides his research on social-ecological systems, he has a long track record in designing and managing international research partnership programmes, with a special emphasis on effective science–policy interfaces for supporting transformations towards sustainable development.
